This five-weekend refresher course is designed for experienced yoga teachers (YTT 200HR Certification required). The program offers an opportunity to revisit essential teachings, refine teaching skills, deepen personal practice, and reconnect with a supportive yoga community.

Weekend 1: Foundations of Yoga Practice
Saturday, January 30 | 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Review of foundational asanas and key posture families
- Alignment principles, variations, and modifications
- Supporting students with different bodies, needs, and experience levels
- Safe and skillful hands-on and verbal adjustments
- Breath awareness and introductory pranayama techniques
- Integrating breath into personal practice and class instruction
- Guided practice and group discussion
Weekend 2: Teaching Methodology
Saturday, February 27 | 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Elements of a balanced and purposeful yoga class
- Sequencing for different levels and class formats
- Creating themes and intentions that support the practice
- Transitioning between postures with clarity and ease
- Effective verbal cues and concise instructions
- Nonverbal communication and demonstration skills
- Building rapport and creating a welcoming classroom environment
- Guest teacher session focused on teaching methodology
Weekend 3: Yoga Philosophy and Teaching Ethics
Saturday, March 20 | 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Review of foundational concepts from the Yoga Sutras
- Exploring how yoga philosophy can inform modern teaching
- Connecting philosophy to daily life and personal experience
- Guest teacher session focused on the Yoga Sutras
- The role and responsibility of the yoga teacher
- Professional conduct and continuing development
- Boundaries, consent, and student safety
- Creating an inclusive, respectful, and accessible environment
- Reflection and facilitated group conversation
Weekend 4: Specialized Practices
Saturday, April 24 | 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Mindfulness techniques for personal practice and teaching
- Simple meditation practices and methods for guiding meditation
- Incorporating stillness, awareness, and contemplation into classes
- Introduction to specialized practices and class formats, such as:
- Restorative yoga
- Yin yoga
- Chair yoga
- Gentle and adaptive practices
- Adapting classes for specific populations and individual needs
- Discussion of opportunities and considerations when teaching specialty classes
- Guest Teacher session focused on Yin and adaptive practices
Weekend 5: Practical Application and Integration
Saturday, May 15 | 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Micro-teaching sessions
- Peer teaching and collaborative learning
- Constructive feedback on sequencing, cueing, pacing, and presence
- Refining each participant’s teaching approach
- Identifying personal strengths and areas for continued growth
- Setting individual teaching and practice goals
- Building a sustainable personal practice
- Tools and resources for ongoing development as a yoga teacher
- Closing reflection and community integration
